About AWAKE AT WORK
Julianne E. Maurseth. Ph.D. offers the Awake at Work website as a support to those who endeavor to bring conscious choice and social responsibility to work.
The methods and practices offered on this site are based on 25 years of her work with over a thousand people.
She has coached many professionals, using practical yet powerful methods to tackle their key challenges, reduce their stress, and achieve their goals in more conscious, ethical ways.
She is particularly committed to helping leaders recognize and practice ethical responsibility to themselves, their organizations, communities, and the environment.
Many people have shared their feedback regarding these practices.
Here are comments from three who worked with Julianne:
“I wanted to convey my warmest thanks for the privilege of this work with you. I fought this process from day one - - I really couldn’t see the value.
To go from that place to where I am today - with having had a breakthrough in a key relationship just last night – is nothing short of a miracle.
I plan to continue this process in the days ahead because I do realize I still have a lot of work ahead of me. But at least now I feel I have the power to make a real change in my life.”

“I’m writing you from Connecticut, where I’ve just completed and passed my Certification for being a Therapeutic Riding Instructor. I thought of you many times throughout the workshop and certification process. Always thinking about:
Observation
Conscious breathing
Self-reflection
Intelligent use of self-assessments
Seeking feedback from others
The work I did with you has continued to move through me and challenge me in everything I do. My fear has lessened exponentially in this year, and I have to say it really was those tools you gave me that helped me to face my fears and self-doubt, and move beyond them.
I’m now able, especially in professional settings, to step back and really take my time in deciding how to handle situations where conflict or tension may arise, instead of react or judge. And when I realize I have made a mistake I am able to admit it, and recognize it. Each time I use these skills, I push myself to work harder at it. Your commitment to this work is authentic and in that authenticity I am finding my own. Thank you very much.”

“Boy, have I though a lot about you over the last year, and especially lately. I’m still doing project management, but am stretching out to teach a workshop for the local community about – guess what: Personal Growth & Self-Discovery!
I found the information you taught me so helpful and would love to share it with others. While looking for content from our work together, I came across some of my writing, and WOW! I cried as I read it. I was such a small ball, rolled up tight.
You taught me how to take a really hard look at myself and my situation. Because of you, I have opened up and am now very strong and confident – and a joyous being! I know I’ve said it before but it deserves repeating: Thank you.”
